When applying to law school, the most essential part is to highlight your writing ability, your experience and personality. Think of it as your written interview and to help you in writing your essay, here are things to remember.

In writing your essay, you need to be yourself. Do not tell about what the university want to hear instead you need to tell the truth. You can tell about your personality, activities you had done, events attended or any experience you have that makes you a perfect candidate. When you are in the process of writing, don’t play a role especially when your essay is to be read by judge or lawyer. Stay away from jargons and legal concepts. In telling a story, don’t use the chronological order and restating your resume. It is nice to tell a personal and good story but you should do it in a right way.

Think of stories you can share that will make them feel you are a special candidate and the one they are looking for. Try also to tell about special interest that helps you to make a decision that the law school is the right one for you. Of course, it is not easy to enter a law school that is why you need to provide reasons or any interests that will support and make them think that you make the right decision. Also, do not forget to write that applying to law school will help you in meeting your needs and goals in life. Present new and fresh details to them that they still do not read.

Applying to law school is not easy because you need to deal with many requirements and you need to stand out from the crowd. In your essay, make sure it is personal and original.
