Write my college admission essay that describes an impact of a book on my life.

If I were to write my essay about the impact of a book in my life, I would choose a literature that can represent me, my values, who I am now and what I hope to become in the future. It would not necessarily pertain to a bestseller or the most profound and intellectual book ever written.

The fact that it is a college admission essay does not necessarily mean I have to impress and showcase my book choices. It does count but the most important thing is they get to know me through my essay. Needless to say, I will choose a book that I can relate to and feel most passionate about.

And so in this particular essay writing about the impact of a book in my life, I choose to write about “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson. The book recounts Mortenson’s quest to climb one of the world’s highest mountain in the Karakoram range; and how this adventure started his humanitarian mission, to build schools. I will write my essay providing a sufficient background about the book. I will then continue to write about the reason I chose the book and how it made an impact in my life.

In writing my essay, I will put emphasis on the difficulties and dangers that Greg Mortenson faced in bringing education to the children of the most remote areas in Pakistan and Afghanistan. This makes me realize the value of education and how it extends to everyone despite of race, religion and location. And anyone, even someone in a humble stature such as Mortenson or even I, can make such a huge difference in the lives of others.
